  • testing the page I am currently testing this page and trying to figure out the possibilities and functioning of drupal. So far there have been some problems with editing my profile. Hopefully I will soon be able to upload some pictures and make some changes to the page. (Nadia)

  • A link about Handwashing I found this quickly, after about 10 seconds on Google. It is I think one of the most concise summaries of academic data about handwashing and the risk of diarrhoeal disease. http://www.medicine.ox.ac.uk/bandolier/booth/Handwash/diarcomm.html I'd love to see more links like this somewhere on this site. • Hy2U in action! Only a few months after it was first conceived, one of the students who was working on the project, a girl named Julia, took the Hy2U with her to Ghana (pictures soon to follow). This is where the first children who had lived their lives wihtout running tap-water got to use the Hy2U. I only wish I had been there, but I remember the story Julia told very well. Traveling away from cities, electricity, infrastructures, sewers and taps, Julia met people for whom the luxury of running water was something that was reserved for richer, more privileged people. • The First time I touched the Hy2U My story starts right near the beginning: at the conception of the Hy2U. Originally, the Hy2U started as a concept. The concept was absolutely simple, and it belonged to Reinder van Tijen, the Hy2U's creator. He wanted to create a nice and easy way to wash your hands. Reinder realized that, if you use a container of water with a self-closing valve at the bottom, you can wash your hands using very little water. From that point, the Design process began. (I will try to get some pictures of early Hy2U prototypes to attach here... you can really see the design evolving!) (User Joel)

  • An Introduction Dear Readers, First of all, I would like to provide a disclaimer. I am not yet a Hy2U user. I am an interested individual, Joel Roszmann, who has worked with Demotech over several years on various projects. This User account is my way of testing the new website, as well as my way of getting involved in the growing community. This Blog will outline for anybody who choses to read it, my personal experiences with the Hy2U, as a technology as well as an initiative. It will make interesting reading: Enjoy! -User Joel (User Joel)
